The Old Blind School or #TOBS (as it is affectionately known) is now open. The Old Blind School, a grade 2 listed & iconic building, after many years of neglect, is now restored and majorly revamped sympathetically in keeping with the building. The building itself is converted into a 200+ cover restaurant across two floors, with a state-of-the‐art kitchen.

The Old Blind School or #TOBS (as it is affectionately known) is now open. The Old Blind School, a grade 2 listed & iconic building, after many years of neglect, is now restored and majorly revamped sympathetically in keeping with the building. The building itself is converted into a 200+ cover restaurant across two floors, with a state-of-the-art kitchen. The Old Blind School is not just about great food but also unique fine ales, fantastic wines and a bespoke list of fabulous cocktails.
The successful duo behind New Moon Co, Paul Newman and David Mooney are extremely excited about the new venture which takes them up to seven sites. Paul, who is no stranger to the Liverpool scene, said
“We have been looking for the right site in Liverpool now for a while and it has always been our intention to be in this fabulous City. We are delighted to have found the perfect site to showcase our thing in Liverpool.”
Jigsaw FM LTD has provided high-efficiency heating and cooling systems in this astonishing building. We worked with New Moon Co throughout the renovation and installed 5 air-conditioning units and a central heating system utilising the original radiators. The air conditioning units are used not only for comfort cooling but as a heat source to provide a comfortable climate all year round.
As you can see from the photos these are mounted on-show and used as a feature so we made sure that our choice of unit fitted with the design within the rooms. All units are individually controlled meaning that each individual dining area can be managed separately for the comfort of the customers.
The original radiators were utilised after an extensive overhaul. As you can see, the results are incredible. The pipework has been left on-show to give that authentic look and the theme has been continued with some creative taps fitted in all bathrooms.
The Old Blind School has been open for over a month now and has quickly risen to one of Liverpool’s top drinking and dining destinations.
